FlexStaff is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for our client, a New York City based provider of comprehensive healthcare services for children and families.
This is a full-time (Monday-Friday), direct hire, permanent position in Woodside, Queens. Our client is also open to a part-time, 4 day/week, 8 hours a day schedule, with the salary pro-rated accordingly.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing primary healthcare services to children and families. Working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan with a focus on preventive care, health promotion, and disease management. This role will provide primary care to children (75%) and adults (25%).
Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations
- Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests to inform diagnosis and treatment plans
- Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
- Prescribing medications and providing appropriate treatments
- Providing health education and counseling to patients and families
- Participating in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and coordinate care
- Documenting patient encounters and maintaining accurate medical records
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Requirements
- Valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a primary care setting
- Strong knowledge of healthcare practices, procedures, and protocols
- Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests and formulating treatment plans
- Effective communication and counseling skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Dedication to providing exceptional patient-centered care
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with evidence-based practices
- Desire to contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment
- Nice-to-have, but not required: Spanish fluency
