Summary:

A $1.5 billion dollar Food Manufacturing company is looking for a new Senior Director of Engineering & Maintenance. This is a full time position that is on site in Sioux City, IA, relocation is available if needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of engineering and maintenance operations within a food & protein manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize production processes, equipment reliability, and facility infrastructure.
  • Manage a team of engineers, maintenance technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient operation and continuous improvement.
  • Implement best practices for preventive maintenance, equipment upgrades, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and safety to achieve operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive initiatives to improve energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability in engineering and maintenance practices.
  • Budget planning and cost management responsibilities, including capital expenditures and operational expenses.
  • Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement among engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and systems to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering and maintenance management experience in food manufacturing, with 5 years in senior leadership.
  • Strong technical knowledge in food processing equipment and facilities management.
  • Proven track record in team leadership, strategic planning, and budget management.
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance, food safety, and environmental standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.
