The Role:


Content backed by and derived from scientific evidence and research has exploded in popularity recently. This gives Consensus a truly unique viral content opportunity - we can use information from our product to create differentiated and valuable content.


We want to double down on content as a marketing channel and are looking for a talented content marketer with startup experience to join our growing team. You will be responsible for owning and executing all content-related initiatives at Consensus. This could include initiatives like: email newsletters, company & founder blogs, social media content (both company-created & managing sponsored content), PR, science communication initiatives and more.


You will be expected to create content yourself and manage the creation of content via contractors such as writers, influencers, UpWorkers, agency partners, etc. While you will have other writers & creators to help you, you must be an excellent writer, communicator and creative mind yourself.


You should also have some general knowledge about science topics & concepts, as well trending technology topics like large language models. We value creativity, a hands-on attitude, rapid experimentation, and a relentless determination to advance the Consensus mission.


Your work may include:


  • Creating a content calendar and content strategy that encompasses multi-channel distribution via our owned channels: social media, email, product, partners, etc.
  • Publishing blogs and content to our website via WordPress.
  • Briefing creative partners, writing scripts, etc, to create owned content for our social media: Short videos, reels, posts, etc.  
  • Liaising with social media partners ‘influencers’ to negotiate, brief, and manage sponsored content delivery. 
  • Creating and defining an SEO strategy for all written content to align with company growth goals
  • Delivery of high-quality written content: Thought leadership, ghostwriting for our founders, and contributed content pieces for publications.
  • Reaching out to journalists and publications regarding coverage or contributed pieces. 
  • Working with and managing PR contacts, writers, UpWorkers, etc.
  • Reporting on basic content-related metrics from our website and social media platforms.
  • Being a champion for our ongoing science education and liaison with the scientific community and science content creation partners. 


Experience requirements + skills:


  • At least 5 years in a lead content role, preferably some at a startup or another fast-paced environment
  • Experience executing and owning content calendars and campaigns that reflect the broader goals of a business.
  • Experience in creating social media content or videos, delivering sponsored content from partners, and managing a social media calendar as part of a broader content strategy.
  • Experience optimizing written content for SEO and executing broad SEO strategies to reflect company growth goals
  • Knowledge and understanding of scientific communication principles, academia, and the ever-shifting AI technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, writing skills, and the ability to translate an interview or conversation with our founders into content. 
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple work streams and contractors, and communicate confidently with external vendors and partners.
  • Creative and lateral thinkers, enjoy collaborating on campaign ideas, new initiatives, etc.

Compensation:


Salary: $125k - $175k USD

Competitive grant of fully diluted company equity
