Accounting ManagerThe Accounting Manager is responsible for providing consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel by supplying management with guidance and training. He/she is also responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels on internal control, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.Responsibilities include managing and communicating cash flow related issues, monitoring hotel revenues and expenses, creating annual budgets and monthly variance analysis, ensuring hotels' compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, analyzing financial data and operations to assist management, complying with standard accounting policies and procedures, reviewing and approving balance sheet accounts, establishing and auditing internal financial controls, completing internal and external financial audits, hiring, training, supervising, and developing staff, maintaining compliance with Highgate Hotels' standards and regulations, preparing financial reports, interacting with executive committee members, monitoring hotels' compliance in meeting report deadlines, producing the hotel daily operating report, and executing special projects and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications include at least 6 years of related progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field; proficiency in Windows, company approved spreadsheets and word processing, and hotel-specific systems; maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor; effective communication and listening skills; multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions; attending hotel required meetings and trainings; maintaining regular attendance; high standards of personal appearance and grooming; compliance with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations; productivity efforts; problem handling; understanding and evaluating complex information; maintaining confidentiality; and performing other duties as requested by management.
