Penmac Education Staffing is seeking an Education Staffing Coordinator to join our staffing team in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time, 10-month contract position running from August 1st to May 31st, working Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay will depend on experience.


What you’ll do as an Education Staffing Coordinator:

  • Coordinate daily substitute teacher and staff assignments, ensuring efficient and effective coverage for classroom absences.
  • Manage the complete onboarding process for substitutes, including training, credentialing, and screening, to maintain a ready-to-work talent pool.
  • Communicate daily absences and substitute teacher placements with relevant school personnel.
  • Maintain and update a database of available and approved substitutes using our scheduling software and applicant tracking system.
  • Proactively recruit, screen, and interview applicants, assessing their skills for appropriate placement.
  • Foster positive relationships with school staff to understand their needs and provide tailored staffing solutions.
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of all substitute staffing requests to meet school satisfaction.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both clients and candidates, maintaining professionalism and a positive demeanor in all interactions.
  • Participate in and contribute to substitute teacher orientations and training sessions.


What we’re looking for:

  • High School diploma required, Associates degree or higher preferred
  • Previous office or school experience preferred
  • Displays proficiency in all related computer applications, including Microsoft Office programs, email and Internet.
  • Ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters relating to faculty, staff and students.
  • Conveys a very warm, friendly, and outgoing personality.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently as well as in a team-environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates very effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully learn, navigate and use Penmac’s internal programs and systems
