Our client is a prominent Global leader in the hospitality industry, dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences with over 1,000 subsidiaries and affiliated brands. With a commitment to innovation and personalized service, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team immediately to oversee a Snowflake data warehousing project.


The Senior Project Manager will manage a large data project on the Data Platform Architecture team and coordinate all aspects of multiple projects from discovery to delivery. As the primary contact for both internal and external teams, this role is responsible for developing detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, budget tracking, progress monitoring, change control, issue and risk resolution, testing, documentation, and creating training plans.


This is a contract role that offers a hybrid work schedule in the downtown Chicago office


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring timely execution from discovery to delivery.
  • Coordinate resources, set project schedules, and allocate budgets.
  • Track project progress, compile status reports, and communicate updates to senior management.
  • Monitor and manage change control processes to ensure project alignment with goals.
  • Identify and resolve issues and risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct testing to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Develop and implement training plans to support project adoption and success.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external teams, facilitating clear communication and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.
  • Adapt to changes in project direction while maintaining core objectives and deliverables.


Qualifications:

  • Work closely with technical teams, agile, Scrum, 2 week sprints, backlog tracking, workflows, etc.
  • Communication with vendors (ex: IBM, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Must haves: Jira, Confluence, Atlassian familiarity
  • Smartsheet familiarity preferred
  • Understanding/ familiarity (not technical) of Snowflake, AWS, Tableau, Cognos, ThoughtSpot (ThoughtSpot gives administrators the ability to modify data properties to meet business needs)
  • ServiceNow familiarity
  • Ability to track details and position them within the big picture of each project
  • Ability to collect details from multiple inputs and highlight dependencies
  • Ability to manage meetings and communicate progress to senior management
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with software development and web/mobile applications
