The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for sale and rental agreements, contracts, DPO’s, safety certificates, warranty cards, limited warranty letters, ensuring insurance coverage for equipment rentals and tax exemption certificates inside the branch. The ISR will learn Vermeer and Bobcat Sales & Marketing methodologies and assist its various sales teams, outside Sales Representatives and Key Account Managers with a multitude of sales-related functions and maintenance.


Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for equipment sales and rental customers who walk or call into the branch. Establishes relationships with new customers and maintains relationships with existing customers.
  • Processes sales quotes and invoices. Handles all paperwork associated.
  • Process rental quotations, reservations, and contracts. Handles all paperwork associated.
  • Demonstrates equipment to customers, conducts walkarounds and new equipment pick-ups.
  • Ensures equipment on yard is clean and organized, maintains rental equipment inventory.
  • Promotes all aspects of Bobcat to its current and prospective customers by assisting Sales Representatives, Sales Departments, and the Marketing function with sales and services related to equipment solutions.
  • Establishes, maintains, qualifies, and nurtures business relationships with current customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
  • Maintains accurate customer account information and machine population within CDK; develops and qualifies equipment and/or parts and service leads, forwarding to sales team as appropriate.
  • Makes telephone calls and other forms of digital touchpoints to existing and prospective customers; research sources for developing prospective customers.
  • Participates in ongoing internal/external training courses and various events, including factory training, online and instructor-led training, trade shows, marketing events, etc., to keep abreast of changes and enhance sales methodology knowledge.
  • Prepares warranty cards for whole goods, attachments and engines, submits warranties to manufacturer, and logs warranty data into CDK.
  • Invoices whole-goods, sales, and rentals; Maintains equipment location for inventory.
  • Sets up new customers, assists in payment processing and monitors payments.
  • Obtains tax exempt certificates, rental insurance certificates, and monitors status.
  • Coordinates title work, files UCC’s and submits and monitors ADDR requests.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in employee handbook.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training/certification or bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in sales environment in the same or similar industry.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, balancing constantly shifting priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills required, including all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Personal appearance must be neat and clean.
  • Background check and pre-employment drug testing required.
  • Bilingual a plus – English and Spanish
