What to Expect

  • Responsibilities:
  • Design equipment to support production of all Tesla products. Experience with apron feeders, conveyors, hoppers, filters, baghouses, ball mills, and other material handling equipment
  • Create equipment drawings, specs, quotes, and purchase requisitions.
  • Utilize DFMA principles in production creation and improvement projects.
  • Develop business cases for improvement projects and equipment acquisitions.
  • Interface with suppliers for manufacturing feasibility and validation.
  • Ensure designs are compatible with packaging, material-handling, and production processes.
  • Support equipment-based process introductions and adjustments.
  • Diagnose equipment failures, find root causes, and communicate actions taken.
  • Become an expert-level trainer on all machines in the assigned area.
  • Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds.
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns.
  • Design and implement equipment reliability improvement projects.


Skillset

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science or higher in mechanical engineering or a similar field.
  • Efficient and productive in both independent and team settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in lithium processing/refining and other industries.
