We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Banquet Server to join our team at WaterStreet. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients and their guests at various events and functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure exceptional service at all on and off-premise events
  • Fill out all necessary forms and paperwork related to events
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the banquet room, closet, and storeroom
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff and management team
  • Arrive on time and be prepared to work
  • Complete daily cleaning tasks and maintain a clean and neat work area
  • Follow instructions and guidelines provided by management and supervisors
  • Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and permits, including TABC and Nueces County Food Handler's Permit
Requirements
  • Standards:
    • Follow all dress code requirements, including a white starched shirt, black pants, and black non-skid shoes
  • Companywide:
    • Document all routine work in an operational manual
    • Perform all work according to company policies and standards
    • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information
    • Provide staff assistance as requested and be willing to cover other areas of accountability and/or departments
    • Respect colleagues' names, space, and need for concentration
    • Attend monthly meetings with management and yearly evaluations
    • Recommend ideas for improving the department and position
    • Meet minimum age requirement of 18 years old

    • Perform simple math, handle money, make change for customers, operate a cash register, and prepare bank deposits
    • Pass all required tests with a score of 90% or higher

    • Answer the telephone or intercom promptly with a friendly and courteous manner
    • Perform duties of a Wait Person, including greeting, seating, and taking food or beverage orders from customers
    • Stock and maintain inventory of items needed for food and beverage serving, bar drink preparation, and front cashier station
    • Record sales and waste of food items and beverages
    • Maintain a clean and neat work area at all times
    • Accurately complete assigned paperwork
    • Clear tables of dishes and silverware, reset tables for next customers, scrub, sweep, and maintain clean floor areas in the restaurant, and take trash out to the dumpster as needed
    Physical and Mental Essential Functions
    • Stand and walk for up to four to ten hours per day on a concrete or carpet surface
    • Lift and carry food and beverage items of varying weights, up to 100 pounds with or without assistance
    • Push, pull, and maneuver food items, objects, or materials of varying weights, up to 150 pounds with and without assistance
    • Bend, stoop, twist, perform rotating motions, and reach down, out, and overhead as needed
    • Constantly use hands and fingers to hold and handle objects and equipment required to perform duties
    • Have corrected vision to be aware of surroundings and location of items needed to perform tasks
    • Have corrected hearing to listen to the needs and advice from customers, managers, and co-workers
    • Be capable of frequently climbing stairs or ladders during assigned work shifts
    • Be mentally alert and capable of remembering names, faces, details regarding job tasks and food orders, and oral instructions
    • Be mentally alert and capable of following instructions for the use of and safely using all equipment involved in assigned job tasks
    • Be capable of working in controlled environmental conditions consisting normally of moderate range temperatures
    • Be capable of working in environmental conditions consisting of a normal to high level of noise
    • Be alert and able to identify a hazard, should one occur, in order to avoid it by reporting immediately or, if directed, by taking corrective measures
