Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Tucson, AZ (3 days Onsite, 2 days Remote)
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent with AXISCADES.
Position Overview
The Design Engineer role will focus on using PTC Creo for structured design procedures, routing cables, wiring harnesses, creating detailing instructions, and releasing notices. The role involves procuring new parts for testing fit-up on the assembly line and participating in the fit-up process. The position primarily supports the current LMT product and implements changes into production.
Job Responsibilities
Define and select control modules, sensors, and other major components.
Connect major components together ensuring system performance is not compromised.
Ensure the overall system is easy to assemble and cost-efficient.
Engage in component-level design including wiring harnesses, battery cables, simple fabricated steel structures, and component mounting systems.
Oversee the creation of detailed drawings and the release of these drawings for production implementation.
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical engineering preferred) with five to seven years of engineering experience, or 8-10 years of design engineering experience without an engineering degree.
Technical Skills Required
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving ability.
Team player and detail-oriented.
Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
Ability to read and interpret 2D technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Previous experience with engineering software applications.
Recent minimum of six months of experience with PTC Creo.
Technical Skills Desired
Experience in 24 volt electrical system design, machine design, strength of materials, structural fatigue, noise/vibration/harshness (NVH), and heat transfer.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills (Specifically English Language).
Attention to detail.
Problem-solving skills.
