Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Diagnose & perform major and minor repairs to all types of fleet equipment including but not limited to front end loaders excavators drag lines readymix trucks semi road tractors and bulk cement trailers. Work performed in the shop and in the field as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Main Responsibilities- Adopt the Companys safety culture actively support all safety initiatives
- Support promote and practice the Company core values vision and mission; follow code of ethics workplace conduct safety and other established policies
- Use diagnostic equipment visual inspection and other tools to diagnose faults or malfunctions to identify required repairs
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers specifications
- Read and understand operating manuals blueprints and technical drawings as vital to ensure proper operation of equipment
- Install new ignition systems change/charge batteries and replace transmissions and other parts
- Examine protective guards loose bolts and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment and makes adjustments
- Clean lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
- High school graduate or GED
- Technical school in related field a plus
- 3 or more years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic preferred
- Proven experience with Cat Komatsu and Volvo equipment and diagnostic software
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Basic computer skill including ability to operate mobile device (phone tablet etc.) and related applications
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred
- Valid DOT medical card and or ability to acquire
- Have own Mechanics tools
- Able to lift or move up to 100 pounds
- Able to stand walk sit reach climb or balance stoop kneel crouch and crawl
- Able to work in high and sometimes confined spaces
- Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
