Job Duties

This position is key to installing and repairing water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and troubleshooting backups in the plumbing. It also to install, repair, and maintain other building components such as appliances, fixtures, furniture, or other necessary items to maintain the physical appearance and efficient operational order of homes and administrative offices at the Facility.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read mechanical diagrams and work from blueprints.
Working knowledge of the various maintenance/construction trades with heavy emphasis in the plumbing and carpentry fields, including knowledge of associated materials, tools, fixtures, and related building codes.
Ability to lift or move heavy objects.
Ability to weld, solder and braise.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Valid Virginia Driver’s License.

Additional Considerations

Certification as a Journeyman level plumber
