Job Description

The purpose of this position is to coordinate development and production of the city’s annual operating budget and 5-Year CIP. The position will supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff. This position will work closely with the Budget Director to review existing policies for potential enhancement, work with departments to establish programmatic outcomes and performance metrics to measure performance, and to establish analytical procedures for the department. The position is the lead analyst for the department and regularly analyzes economic and financial data in order to support resource allocation decisions. Required Qualifications VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, public finance, or a closely related field. Master’s degree in public administration, economics or similar field is desirable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this position requires a minimum of five years of related, full-time equivalent experience. A background of complex policy analysis and at least two years of supervisory experience are preferred.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: None required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-terms department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in public administration, economics, or similar field is desirable. A background of complex policy analysis and at least two years of supervisory experience are preferred.
