Director of Client Accounting

The Director of Client Accounting is responsible for overseeing all general accounting activities and providing strategic direction to the accounting team. This role involves preparing accurate and timely accounting and financial reports, conducting in-depth analyses, and implementing measures to mitigate organizational risk.

  • Leadership and effective management of the client accounting functions.

  • Performance Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the day-to-day activities of the accounting department staff.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and strategies to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and growth.
  • Prepare budgets, financial reports, and forecasts by analyzing and organizing financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, standards, and principles.
  • Oversee annual audits to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve financial objectives and delegate tasks as necessary.
  • Produce financial statements by monitoring and evaluating accounting data.
  • Optimize systems and processes, initiating corrective actions when required.
  • Maintain accurate fiscal records and documentation of transactions.
  • Stay current with industry knowledge by attending relevant workshops, conferences, and training.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in the HOA or Community Management industry is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting regulations, practices, and standards.
  • 3-5 years of prior experience as an Accounting Manager.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial ledger software.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in accounts management, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial reporting, and audit compliance.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of complex data.
  • CPA license is a plus.
  • Experience in systems implementation and change management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Director of Client Accounting primarily works in an office environment but may need to travel to client locations for meetings. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The incumbent must be able to lift or exert force of up to 15 lbs.
