A day in the life:

  • Oversee coordination efforts to configure, administer and improve the Transportation Project Management System (TPMS).

  • Collaborate and draft polices, working agreements and presentations to provide communication and team document deliverables.

  • Test, analyze and resolve technical system issues.

  • Design, develop and deliver reports in response to management, project delivery staff or leadership committees.

  • Develop procedures to improve data quality, analysis and reporting systems.

  • Identify, coordinate, manage and lead new and ongoing system improvements.

  • Collaborate and analyze transportation projects with internal and external partners to improve existing processes and procedures.

  • Lead, deliver and facilitate training and education related to the system application, data and documents.

  • Develop work assignments, plans and review of work assigned to contractors.

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with hybrid work options available.

  • May require occasional in-state and out of state travel to attend internal and external meetings, with some trips requiring overnight lodging.

Minimum qualifications:

Five years of progressively responsible experience related to ; 

OR

Four years of progressively responsible experience related to AND an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification; 

OR

Two years of progressively responsible experience related to AND a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, public administration, or a closely related field; 

OR

A Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.

Special qualifications:

Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

  • Knowledge and experience in successful operations of transportation project management system and change management, access control and security, and troubleshooting and incident management support processes.

  • Strong understanding of multimodal transportation project delivery, programs, and project management principles, methodologies, and procurement processes and practices.

  • Proven leadership experience in developing, managing, and improving systems and programs.

  • Experience with system configuration and technical solution architecture.

  • Experience in information system end-user documentation, manuals, and training development and provision to support system implementation.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to conduct business analysis and to prepare and deliver presentations to management, colleagues and varied audiences.
