Summary

This position is in the Quality and Safety Service (QPS), Washington DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC). The incumbent supports QPS staff, functional committees, and those responsible for monitoring service level safety indications by designing custom databases, queries, forms, spreadsheets, reports and dashboards to collect, organize, format, and display metrics, findings, and benchmarking of patient population and workload data.

Duties

Major Duties: The Incumbent gathers, categorizes, and maintains Quality and Patient Safety metrics for the medical center's accredited programs in multiple national and agency databases. Generates daily, weekly, monthly, and special reports that require the incumbent to extract data from various databases and place that data into usable reports. Coordinates data collection/input for DCVAMC; and runs and sorts a variety of reports to trend quality outcomes data from different databases. Writes databases queries to the corporate data warehouse and places that information into usable formats for end-users. Identifies required data and develops data standards, reporting procedures and requirements to ensure proper and timely relevant data capture and analysis. Gathers any number of quality outcomes and generates the appropriate graphic pictorials and representations to demonstrate data trends and findings. Creates, sorts, and prints templates for graphs and specialized reports. Develops, collects, compiles, analyzes, publishes, maintains and properly presents to QPS and other stakeholders data and information related to a wide variety of needs of the office including Annual and ad hoc reports. Briefing and budget hearing presentation materials; inspection/investigation preparation; and data management, correlation, and presentation (., chart/graph/table/presentation). The incumbent provides advice and guidance to management officials on a variety of complex QPS database and metrics problems and assistance in solving quality issues and implementing procedural changes.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 . - 4:00 .
