Job TitleProgram SpecialistJob DescriptionProgram SpecialistWork Location: Department of State, Washington, DCCape Fox is seeking a highly qualified Program Specialist to join our team in support of the US Department of State (DOS).Core Duties:Draft and update briefing papers, memos, talking points, and updates on issues related to U.S.-Qatar relations for State Department leadershipAssist the Near East Affairs Bureau, Office of Arabian Peninsula Affairs, Qatar Desk (NEA/ARP) office at meetings and on phone calls on topics related to U.S.-Qatar relationsSupport NEA/ARP policy positions at those meetingsDraft and circulate meeting summariesCoordinate on a daily basis with contacts at U.S. Embassy Doha to share information, provide policy updates, and respond to requests from guidanceServe as the NEA/ARP office lead for engagements with the Coordinator for Afghan Relocation Efforts (CARE)Assist in maintaining regular communication and coordination with CARE colleagues regarding relevant aspects of the operation of Camp As Sayliyah (CAS) and U.S. engagement with the Government of Qatar on Afghan relocation issuesTravel Requirements0 - 10%Salary Grade-Job RequirementsRequirements:Undergraduate degree in international relations, political science, public policy, Arabic, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in international politics/foreign policy, or other related fieldsTwo (2) years or more work experience on international relations, international politics, international economics, foreign policy, or human rights issuesExperience writing for a professional audienceAbility to solve problemsEnglish language (written and spoken) communications skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks, act decisively in daily work, and work well in a multi-cultural team environmentStrong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and computer skillsAbility to work independently to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervisionMust have an Active Secret Security Clearance#CJCategoryOtherLocationWashington, DC (DOS - HST Bldg.) - Washington, DC 20520 US (Primary)EducationBachelor's Degree
