Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in formulating, implementing, and maintaining basic policies, programs, and techniques necessary to achieve company goals and regulatory requirements related to safety and environmental issues.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with safety and environmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory issues.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with department managers and supervisors to provide for and ensure that employees receive training and development in promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Recognize potential HSE issues and monitor corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop and conduct HSE training as necessary.
  • Locate, consolidate, label and store waste in accordance with government regulations, coordinate waste removal and disposal with qualified waste haulers and disposal sites as well as all relevant documentation.
  • Prepare and file required HSE reports.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation by contact with external organizations and bodies to be familiar with new developments in HSE.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedure.


Responsibilities

  • Conducts new hire HSE orientations and monthly safety training as needed.
  • Assists in the transportation of injured persons to a local treating facility.
  • Conducts incident investigations, online incident reporting, root cause analysis and recommends corrective action.
  • Identify workplace hazards or unsafe working conditions and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • Assists in maintaining all Health Safety and Environmental records, permits, and reports as required by Federal, State(s), & Various Local Regulatory Agencies.
  • Assist with and administer emergency response of spills, first-aid and medical emergencies.
  • Implement corporate, business group, and division HSE directives as directed.
  • Manage all incident reports within the Corporate HSE online reporting system.


Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3 years' experience in occupational health, safety and environmental affairs preferred.
  • Willing to travel to other locations in the area if needed.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred.


Behavioral Competencies

  • Ability to prioritize work projects and multitask when required is essential for success in this position. Ability to utilize experience, skills, and training to make appropriated actions and decisions relating to on-site HSE occurrences.


Technical Competencies

  • Working knowledge of management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is preferred. Previous working experience / knowledge with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ is preferred.
