The Field Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing engineering projects related to the client’s production facilities, with a strong emphasis on piping systems. This role requires an engineering degree, extensive knowledge of downstream processes, and significant experience in managing engineering projects within the industry. The Field Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation tailored to the gases and ammonia industry.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and meet client requirements.
  • Lead and manage project teams to achieve project goals.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct risk management analysis specific to gas and ammonia projects to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensure all projects comply with industry-specific safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement industry best practices for safety and environmental protection.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and reports related to gas and ammonia production.
  • Assist in the design and layout of project components, particularly piping systems and process equipment.
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and manage the bidding process.
  • Evaluate contractor bids and make recommendations for awards.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Document all project activities and maintain comprehensive project files.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in managing engineering projects within the gases and ammonia industry, with a focus on piping systems.
  • Proven track record of successful project management in a similar industry.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications related to gas and ammonia production.
  • Strong background in piping design, layout, and installation.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera (P6).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of relevant industry regulations and standards, including those specific to gas and ammonia production.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Additional Requirements
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is preferred.
