Associate Nurse Unit Manager

Leadership and Management Opportunity 12 months Part Time Fixed Term 64 hours/ fortnight

Your new Team:


Ward 9 West is a 24-bed surgical ward. We provide specialised care to patients and consumers admitted under Urology, Vascular, Breast Oncology and Endocrinology (BOE). We work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver Safe, Timely, Effective and Person Centred Care.

Your new role:

The ANUM fulfils the roles and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse, demonstrating expert knowledge and skills whilst assuming a prominent management focus within the 9 West Ward. The ANUM is an integral member of the department management team, assisting the NUM in the course of their duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinical environment.

You will ensure the provision of high-quality standards of patient care. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in collaboration with 9 West multidisciplinary team to achieve the desired patient outcome. Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and skills whilst assuming a prominent management focus Strengthen your understanding about patient flow; Early discharge planning, promote 10am discharges and the utilisation of transit lounge and coordinate timely admissions from Theatre and the Emergency Department. Communicate effectively with 9 West key stakeholders; Surgical Services Leadership, Bed Management and Access Coordinators, Theatre, the Emergency Department and Surgical and Medical Units

About you:

You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative working style Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development. You are an AHPRA Registered Nurse with ward experience and are willing to work on a rotating roster
