Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Division of Business and Finance (DBF) is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager. This key role will oversee the payment of bills and the recording and collection of receivables for the agency. The manager will ensure the accurate recording of payments to vendors, interpreting policies and statutes to maintain correct financial information in the State of Arizona Accounting System (AZ360). Proper coding is crucial for the Fixed Asset Unit to track capital and inventory assets accurately and to prevent payments from incorrect funding sources. This position manages and develops Accounting Specialists II and is responsible for their evaluations. Join us to play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our agency.

Job Duties: Assist with developing policies and interpreting statutes with regards to Accounts Payables and Receivables for ADOA Approving all of the transactions keyed in APP & AZ360 submitted by direct reports Uploading all ADOA billing into the AZ360 system. Doc type ITIAD P Card process, reconciles all payments ensures everything is paid timely work with card holders, assist in training of new cardholders. This also includes paying the Ghost Card statements Train and develop direct reports Assist them in establishing goals and objectives Ensure they are meeting goals and objectives Evaluate direct reports
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

Accounting principles and practices (GAAP, GASB, FASB, etc.) Reconciliation procedures Arizona Accounting Manual Financial data analysis Statutes relative to area of responsibility Internal policies and procedures Automated accounting systems Team-building techniques and real-world applications Effective supervision techniques Section goals and objectives and department goals Revenue and expenditure cycles for businesses Statutes relating to the vendor payments

Skills in:

Interpersonal relationships with subordinates, peers, and individuals both within and without the ADOA Basic math Oral and written communication Leadership and management Directing others to provide proper maintenance of an automated accounting system Work organization and time management

Ability to:

Work well with other employees Understand and interpret policy and statutes Communicate both verbally and written
Selective Preference(s): Prior experience as an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager State Government experience is a plus Pre-Employment Requirements: Background and reference check, including a criminal records verification
