Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Duties
The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) is a large facility serving over 82,000 Veterans. The GCVHCS is a multi-site medical system that includes a major medical facility in Biloxi and four Community Based Outpatient Clinics. GCVHCS is an academic facility with teaching and research programs.Duties include but are not Limited to: Provides direct line supervision of an interdisciplinary team of staff, including Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Peer Support Specialists. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work to meet multiple deadlines. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for positions in the unit; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignments to such positions. Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to Service Chief. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing for and arranging for needed development and training. Develops performance standards. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area. Reviews and approves or disapproves leave requests. Ensures supervisees are trained and fully comply with the provisions of safety regulations. Adjusts staffing levels or work procedures within the program to accommodate resource allocation decisions made at higher echelons. Provide clinical treatment both face to face and virtually. Work Schedule : Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66 .
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Telework : Available at supervisor's discretion
