This role has the chance to work across multiple exciting and critical projects ranging from circular economy and energy to communications and engagement.

The role will primarily support the Community Insights program. Community Insights is an action in the Central and Gippsland Region Sustainable Water Strategy to address gaps in the Victorian community's water knowledge and improve their capacity to engage in future decision making about long term water security. As part of this position you will work closely with the Senior Manager to collaborate across the sector, the Department and the Group to identify common issues, project manage research and coordinate pilot initiatives designed to understand how we can work with the community more effectively.

You will also have the opportunity to help facilitate the water sector's input into waste and energy reforms and investments to meet Victoria's transition to a circular economy powered by renewable energy. These work programs are guided by strategies including Recycling Victoria: A New Economy and Victoria's Renewable Hydrogen Industry Development Plan.

The role will involve project management and logistical support to the Strategic Projects team, in particular assisting with management of contracts, funding agreements, budgets and associated reporting as well as coordination of internal and external stakeholder engagement activities.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and comfortable working within an environment of change and collaboration. You will have strong stakeholder engagement and organisational skills and be willing to collaborate as part of a team committed to service excellence. Your ability to quickly grasp new and evolving subject matter will be regarded highly.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience. Relevant professional work experience in the Victorian water industry would be an advantage.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
