Job Description Summary

As the Senior Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) you will support the Special Access Programs (SAPs). You will be responsible for the SAP IA posture for classified information systems within GE Aerospace. You will be responsible for leading and providing oversight to a diverse IA team, to ensure alignment with the business' security core capabilities, vision, mission, strategy, and goals in a geographically dispersed landscape. The successful candidate is expected to have an expert working knowledge of NIST information system protection policies and Risk Management Framework (RMF) procedures and tools, as prescribed within the Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG), as it applies to various defense industry implementations.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Risk Management Framework (RMF) subject matter expert in support of National Security computing environments operating with various size and complexity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a formal (Information System) IS program and policies for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and oversee operational IS security implementation policy and guidelines.
  • Serve as the GE Aerospace primary liaison to the organization's DoD Security Control Assessors (SCAs), Authorizing Officials (AOs), and Program Security Officers (PSOs).
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG), (National Institute of Standards and Technology) NIST - 800 series publications.
  • Provide regulatory direction to an internal IT staff who execute day-to-day IT operations as well as large-scale projects; provide direct management of an internal staff of Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs).
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of COMSEC policies and procedures, as well as safeguarding and implementation.
  • Participate in security regulatory reviews and formal self-inspections conducted in house. Assist with cross-site inspections at other GE facilities, as well.
  • Manage, maintain, and execute a robust continuous monitoring program.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR associate's degree with minimum of 11 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 13 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Information Assurance.
  • CISSP, CISM or equivalent DoD 8570 IAM III security certification.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience


Eligibility Requirement:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
  • Candidate must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance based upon a Tier 5 (T5)/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
