The Work Schedule Administrator (WSA) provides support to the nursing department by creating and maintaining nursing schedules as well as unit and shift assignments. Other responsibilities include processing leave and move requests, scheduling required training classes, administrative tasks to assist the nursing office, and other duties as assigned. The WSA works under the Chief Nurse Executive with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Maintains data and conducts inquiry into computerized scheduling software (Visual Staff Scheduler Pro).

Communicates with managers on an intermediate level with others to provide, exchange, or verify information. Answers inquiries, address issues, and resolves problems or complaints.

Interfaces with employees on questions of changes to schedule, unit, and/or shift.

Maintains schedule for required training classes for all nursing staff.
Maintains Spanish language interpretation team members schedule for assigned day(s).

Maintains current knowledge on updated procedures and features for the scheduling system.

Researching time keeping documents as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintains confidentiality of all information.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Capps, Visual Staff Scheduler Pro.

Knowledge of timekeeping system.

Knowledge of HHS and DSHS policies relating to time and leave.

Ability to compose correspondence.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to perform detail work.

Ability to organize workloads.

Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to assume a variety of responsibilities.
