INVISTA is seeking a Gas Turbine Technician to support the Asset Management group at our Houston Chemical Plant (HCP). Houston Chemical was the first Catofin propane dehydrogenation plant in the United States, and worldwide, we remain the most productive Catofin plant in our size class.

Our Team

As a Gas Turbine Technician at HCP, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing industrial aeroderivative gas turbines to ensure optimal performance and reliability. You will work within a dynamic team to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance.

This role will work a 4/10 schedule and is eligible for relocation incentives.

What You Will Do

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on five (5) industrial gas turbines and berths, including lube oil and air filtration systems
  • Remove, install, and align engines in berths
  • Plan and complete borescopes, maintenance, berth upgrades, and turnaround activities
  • Collaborate with plant personnel to troubleshoot GTs to detect irregularities and malfunctions
  • Repair or replace defective parts on GTs
  • Respond to emergency engine trips and provide prompt solutions to minimize downtime
  • Keep detailed and accurate reports of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory
  • Work with OEM/3rd party vendors to support engines
  • Personify a high-safety culture

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience with aeroderivative gas turbines
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with Rolls Royce Avon aeroderivative gas turbines
  • Military background

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work a 10-hour day shift. The work schedule is subject to change with notification, depending on business needs. Additionally, must be available to work scheduled (planned) or unscheduled (unplanned/short-notice hours on nights and/or weekends, holidays as needed), to meet business needs
  • Required to wear the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, ACR Flash suits, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces with supplied breathing air and congested areas
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, and ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of 80 feet
