About this Position

Business MT’s goal is to be the lead business development division for the State of Montana by supporting business growth and the prosperity of Montana communities. Our mission is to retain, expand and attract businesses that provide an economic impact for Montana communities through public/private partnerships, leveraged funding and support of economic opportunities for Montana businesses and entrepreneurs. The Business MT Division administers programs that provide technical assistance (finance, marketing, export, planning) and financial assistance (grants and loans) to Montana’s businesses with specific emphasis on projects that have business development, growth of revenue and job creation opportunities.

The Business MT Loan Participation Program assists existing Montana businesses that need additional borrowings to stabilize, pivot, expand or re-start their business and to assist new Montana businesses entering the market. The Program operates through a collaborative network of economic development organizations, local lenders, government agencies, and businesses, focusing on industry specific challenges and solutions.As the Program continues to evolve, the successful candidate may also be responsible for overseeing or contributing to additional loan programs that align with the Division’s economic and industrial growth strategies.

Primary Duties include

Marketing and Public Relations Program Administration Program Monitoring

Education and Experience: 

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance, Management or other related field and Minimum of three years experience in a government, loan or economic development program or Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis 

Competencies:

Knowledge of:

Loan Industry/Financial Services Sector Economics and Accounting Commercial Lending Knowledge

Ability to:

Decision Making and Problem Solving Organize, Plan and Prioritize work Engage With Industry Vendors
