The Employee Benefits Consulting Practice offers excellent retirement, health, compensation, and investment consulting services to our clients. We are actively recruiting a Proposal and Sales Support Specialist to bolster the sales efforts of Milliman's Employee Benefits Consulting (EBC) Practice. This role involves the creation of high-quality materials integral to our sales process. The responsibilities of this position encompass a range of internal sales support activities, including but not limited to, the production of proposals, presentations, and other sales materials as needed. This role is pivotal in enhancing our sales operations.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare Milliman's response to written Requests for Proposal received from prospects seeking our services. Write original draft using approved content in the master library and modifying for the specific prospect. Proposals cover defined benefit and retiree medical actuarial consulting, health & welfare actuarial and benefits consulting, and investment advisory.
  • Project manage the proposal process, working with subject matter experts to obtain technical content, legal and insurance requirements, pricing approvals, and oversight while maintaining adherence to deadlines and submission requirements. Tracks and records the lifecycle of proposals on pipeline.
  • Provide final client deliverable to the assigned Sales Lead in required format (zip file for electronic submission, printed hard copies, or upload into online response databases, etc.)
  • Support master library of RFP content and update on regularly scheduled basis with assistance of Subject Matter Experts.
  • Maintain library of sample client deliverables and documents used as appendices and examples for RFPs and standard proposals.
  • Produce custom proposals, power point presentations, capability descriptions, and other sales support materials.
  • Support the efforts of the sales team members to gain new business for the practice.
  • Assist with preparation of presentations as needed.
  • Assist with other sales and marketing initiatives as requested.
What We Are Looking For

Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least five years' experience in sales support, internal marketing support or new business development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint as well as desire and ability to learn additional software.
  • Experience working with Qvidian and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Experience working with Employee Benefit plans is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (able to prepare proposals covering complex topics).
  • Collaborate with and support sales team members.
  • Self-starter with good project management skills and ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.

The Team

The EB Consulting practice provides actuarial and other consulting services for multiple industries, for actives and retirees and for Corporate, Public and Multiemployer Plans. This practice works with several key types of clients organized into the following seven lines of business:
  • Corporate Pension Plans
  • Multiemployer Pension Plans
  • Public Pension Plans
  • Other Postretirement Benefit Plans (Corporate, Multiemployer, and Public combined)
  • Health and Group Benefits (Corporate, Multiemployer, and Public combined)
  • Compensation and Benefits Surveys
  • Investments
Location

This is a remote position. Candidates hired into this role may work onsite in select Milliman office locations, if they prefer. The expected application deadline for this job is August 31, 2024.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $117,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
