Compensation

Our Compensation System is designed to reward remarkable work, grow your impact and support the whole "you" over the course of your career.

We believe in paying people fairly, so we've established a compensation model aimed to ensure everyone at Fearless — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, nationality, or negotiation skills — is given equal pay for equal work. Our approach to compensation is intended to ensure our total package serves all of your needs and includes base pay, medical and other benefits, performance rewards, 401k matching, plus a few perks (tech and wellness reimbursement programs) Our salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location and provide team members salary growth within a salary grade over time. Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position). Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance.

Fearless is looking for a Tech Proposal Writer II to add to our diverse team of 250+ employees (and counting).

What you'll be doing

We're looking to change the world by building software with a soul, and we want your help.
This role plays a key function within the Business Development department by writing technical proposals and creating other documents as needed to support proposal writing and our customers. The Tech Proposal Writer II is responsible for synthesizing information from multiple inputs to write compelling, clear proposals in response to customer requirements. This role combines strong communication skills, writing skills, and attention to detail to help the team win contracts that align with Fearless' values.

Responsibilities and Contributions:

Organizational and Leadership Role

  • Executes on and implements proposal strategies to create successful and compelling proposals.
  • Acts as a coach and resource to other Tech Proposal Writers, providing support and guidance.
  • Collaborates closely with other Tech Proposal Writers, other members of the BD team, and senior leadership to ensure alignment and complete work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strengthens the Fearless BD and Content communities through effective writing and proposal process improvement.

Functional Role

  • Collaborates with various technical and business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather the knowledge needed to create required proposal content, as well as other documentation as needed.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, translates, and composes technical information into logical, readable, and understandable documents.
  • Ensures that proposal content is accurate, complete, meets Fearless and customer standards, and is compliant with RFP requirements.
  • Produces high-quality proposal content that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Establishes consistent brand voice and tone across all written proposal materials.
  • Continuously updates and improves the Fearless proposal content library.
  • Translates technical concepts and explanations into easy to understand language.
  • Identifies constraints / roadblocks and is able operate and manage within them.
  • Collaborates with and interviews both internal and external resources to develop compelling and complete proposals (and other BD content as needed).
  • Executes efficient content development by reusing existing copy, building content libraries, and leveraging templates.
  • Independently manages writing projects and reaches out to the needed technical and department staff to gather information.
  • Clearly articulates the Fearless story, mission, work, and impact.
  • Supports the creation of additional content and copy on an as-needed basis, such as responses to Requests for Information, data calls, BD presentations, and other BD communications.

  • Experience creating content and writing proposals in response to Government RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitations.
  • Strongly demonstrated storytelling ability, with advanced grammar, writing, and interviewing skills.

Icing-on-the-Cake Skills

  • Experience with the digital services industry, government domain, and/or Baltimore tech community.
