About Us:

College Contact is a fast-growing edtech platform supporting near-peer postsecondary advising for D2C clients, and B2B organizations. We match high school students to undergraduate mentors in our network to help them navigate the admissions process, and help them persist in the first few years of college. Our platform is subscription based on the D2C side. While still an early stage startup, we are a venture backed Techstars portfolio company aiming to raise a large Seed round at the end of Q3.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically adept Marketing Lead to drive our marketing strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in setting marketing strategies, coupled with hands-on experience in various digital marketing channels including paid advertising, search engine optimization (SEO), content creation, social media management, and grassroots marketing. Additionally, experience in data-driven decision-making using tools like Google Analytics is crucial. Candidates with a background in direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing, particularly targeting parents or high schoolers, and experience in the education or EdTech industry will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention.
Lead the planning and implementation of paid advertising campaigns across various platforms, ensuring optimal ROI.
Manage SEO/SEM initiatives to improve organic search visibility and drive relevant traffic to our digital properties.
Utilize Google Analytics and other analytics tools to analyze performance metrics, derive actionable insights, and optimize marketing campaigns accordingly.
Oversee content creation efforts, including blog posts, social media content, email newsletters, and other collateral to engage target audiences and drive conversions.
Implement grassroots marketing tactics to penetrate target markets and build brand presence locally and nationally.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, and other teams to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform marketing strategies and tactics.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior marketing team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in marketing roles with a focus on digital marketing and strategy development.
Proven track record of success in managing paid advertising campaigns, SEO initiatives, and social media marketing.
Hands-on experience with Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms to track and analyze campaign performance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Familiarity with grassroots marketing tactics and their application in driving brand awareness and customer acquisition.
Prior experience in direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing, preferably targeting parents or high schoolers, is a plus.
Background in the education or EdTech industry is highly desirable.
Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
