Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Design and implement security measures for cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Implement, maintain, improve security tools such as an EDR/XDR, SIEM.
  • Ensure robust network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and secure VPN configurations.
  • Embed security practices into the CI/CD pipeline and throughout the SDLC.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC 2.0/DFARS etc.).
  • Strong background in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Proficient in programming languages, Python is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline and version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) or other biotech software is a plus.
  • Ability to function well in a growth-oriented, nimble environment.
  • Must have authorization to work in the US for any employer.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of DevSecOps, DevOps or Security Engineering experience
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or relevant security certifications are a plus.
