Your Role:
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be an innovator for manufacturing process control and automation for the plant.

You will be working with state-of-the-art automated packaging machinery and will be responsible for incorporating programmable logic controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), servo systems, sensors, cameras, and other automation components.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Design and optimize complete PLC-based control systems for automated packaging.
  • Develop process control schemes, create programmable controller logic, and design Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphics.
  • Determine layouts of control cabinets for PLCs and touchscreen interfaces and generate electrical wiring schematics.
  • Setup and troubleshoot integration and networking of PCs, HMIs, PLCs, and thirdparty devices.
  • Perform I/O check out, IP addressing, startup, and commissioning of automation equipment and controls.
  • Conduct operation and maintenance training.
  • Control circuit, wiring, troubleshooting, and construction.
  • Manage small to medium capital projects.


Ultimately, you will play a vital role in our company and will help us to automate our equipment and processes and make them more efficient, including the ability to improve up time and reduce scrap production.

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, controls, or automation engineering (ABET accredited), computer science. or related field.
  • 7+ years of plant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and control systems design.
  • Allen Bradley/Rockwell, ABB and Siemens software and hardware experience.
  • Programming, installation, and troubleshooting of AC and DC drives experience.
  • Integrating and networking PC's and PLC's experience.
  • Understanding of power distribution for medium sized machinery.
  • Very knowledgeable about electrical troubleshooting using a voltmeter.
  • Prior experience with new machinery installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office (in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power-Point, Project) and CAD Design.
