QUALITY ENGINEER

ROLE

STA Technologies specializes in creating innovative anti-counterfeiting solutions for various security applications. We are dedicated to developing cutting-edge security features and advanced sensors for detection and authentication purposes. Our range of sensors includes quality control tools, customer-facing measurement tools, and high-speed sensors designed for industrial in-line environments.

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our sensor quality infrastructure and expanding the scope of our quality system. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that our quality system complies with ISO standards, internal guidelines, and customer requirements. You will also be tasked with establishing and monitoring quality metrics during the transition of our product portfolio from development to production.

You will be in charge of the following key tasks:

  • Refining and setting up the quality system infrastructure and metrics for products throughout the development and manufacturing phases.
  • Developing and overseeing the quality system to maintain long-lasting electronics products that can operate efficiently for over a decade at customer sites.
  • Establishing the quality manufacturing infrastructure, including documentation and test fixture requirements, to streamline production and ensure high reliability results.
  • Coordinating the development of quality control processes and fixtures with key vendors and monitoring quality metrics for vendor-supplied components.
  • Evaluating and aligning with ISO, internal, and customer requirements to develop quality system products and documentation.
  • Providing expertise and guidance to our Sensor Research and Development and Manufacturing teams to uphold high quality standards for both existing and new sensor products.
  • Establishing and tracking quality metrics for each product in the sensor portfolio as they move from development to production.
  • Conducting quality analyses such as FMEA and root cause analysis to enhance product performance metrics.
  • Leading the analysis, documentation, and reporting of repaired products through our maintenance depot, and aiding in the transition to a computerized monitoring system.
  • Ensuring that insights from failure analysis and Customer Technical Services feedback are integrated back into the development and manufacturing processes.
  • Validating the significance of system upgrades in a dynamic change-resistant environment using data-driven justifications.
PROFILE
  • Must hold a BS in Electrical Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a quality engineer focusing on electronics products.
  • Experience in establishing quality systems infrastructure and metrics for products with electronics and mechanical components is essential.
  • Desirable experience in quality systems related to software and/or optics/lasers.
  • Demonstrated experience with quality systems in an ISO 9001 environment, preferably with exposure to other ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and experience in product certification (e.g., NRTL and CE) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team across different time zones in resolving technical issues.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, shifting priorities, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Comfortable communicating across various levels of management and to diverse stakeholders in different forums.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance are required.
  • Available for occasional domestic and international business travel.
