You will lead the development and implementation of IP strategies for designated business and tech groups.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement forward-thinking IP strategies to support new technology investments
  • Act as a legal expert in IP law, focusing on patents and trade secrets
  • Provide IP legal counsel to business and technology groups independently
  • Secure rights to protect technology investments (patents, trade secrets, etc.)
  • Draft and negotiate IP agreements and provisions in business contracts
  • Support M&A activities
  • Handle IP litigation and disputes
  • Provide training on IP matters to employees

Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • US Patent Attorney Registration
  • Bachelor's or higher in scientific disciplines or demonstrated success in patent preparation
  • 4-6 years experience in IP law
  • Admitted (or willing to be admitted) to practice in Minnesota
  • Strong judgment, strategic thinking, business acumen, and communication skills
  • IP experience in various areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in database IP rights and patents in machine learning/AI
  • Knowledge of Copyrights and enforcement
  • Blend of law firm and in-house experience
