Job Title: Patent Agent - Chemical/Life Sciences

Job Summary:

MERCHANT & GOULD PC, a leading intellectual property law firm, is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join its Chemical/Life Sciences practice area. This position can be located in any of our existing markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting patent applications and managing global patent portfolios
  • Communicating with clients, including inventors, in-house counsel, and tech transfer offices
  • Analyzing prior art and USPTO Office Actions
  • Developing and writing persuasive arguments in response to Office Actions

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in a life sciences discipline (genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, etc.)
  • Strong academic credentials and a sound understanding of antibody technology
