Main Purpose of Job
This position serves as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and is responsible for providing individual in-person and telephone breastfeeding counseling for English and Spanish speaking pregnant and breastfeeding women following the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor guidelines. Assess need/ issue appropriate breast pumps when needed according to Policy and Procedure. Assist with maintaining a breastfeeding friendly clinic.\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:�� Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: None.�\r
Notes: �Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\r
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
The selected candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish speaking languages.\r
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
