There is an open opportunity with a federal client in support of organization-wide data management, analytics, software and application development, and emerging and innovative business intelligence requirements. The Hive Group is sourcing a Business Intelligence Developer to join our existing Business Intelligence Team, providing organization-level application development, data automation, integration and visualization. Position responsibilities and requirements outlined below.

Roles and Responsibilities:​​​​​​​

  • Work in close collaboration with the Business Intelligence Task Lead, Federal Data Lead and other adjacent contract teams. Position reports to Business Intelligence Task Lead.
  • Develop new, maintain and improve existing Business Intelligence tools and products, as well as establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new processes.
  • Interact with various active Google workbook datasets, in collaboration with adjacent contract teams, in order to aggregate and normalize procurement data at the project and program levels using macros, queries, scripts.
  • Interface regularly with client and contract leadership to assess data needs and evaluate feasibility of emerging requirements.
  • This role is currently fully remote, in accordance with client's guidance. Should the client require contractors to report to an office in the future, this may impact the reporting nature of this role

  • Web Development: Design and develop dynamic, responsive web outputs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal user experience.
  • Automation Development: Develop automation scripts using Google App Scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Data Integration: Implement seamless data integration from Google Sheets to web applications using JSONP callbacks, facilitating real-time data retrieval and updates.
  • Data Management: Perform data cleansing, formatting, and validation to ensure high data quality and reliability for analysis and reporting.
  • API development: Integrate the use of APIs to enhance connectivity and data flow between various systems and web applications.
  • Visualizations: Develop interactive and visually appealing data visualizations to effectively communicate complex information and insights.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in business, business intelligence, data or information management, or similar field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of data or information management and/or software or application development experience.
  • Experience using Google Workspace, specifically Google Sheets and Google App Scripts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior consulting and/or client management experience required.
  • Experience working with JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, manipulation, normalization of large data sets.
  • Experience with access control, bug tracking, software feature requests, task management, version control and developer platform systems (such as GitHub)
  • Clearable (able to pass both a criminal background check and credit check).
  • Preferred but not required - Google Cloud, Google Workspace or Google Data Analytics courses or certifications.
