BAE Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support the Integrated Survivability Solutions (ISS) product line, in the Countermeasures & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions business area. As an industry leader in EO/IR and RF technologies, ISS is dedicated to advancing multi-platform detection, tracking and defeat of incoming threats to support aircraft, ground vehicle and maritime survivability.In this role, you will:Be a part of a team of software developers working software implementation for our state-of-the-art threat detection solutions to include the 2-Color Advanced Warning System (2CAWS) and the AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) products.Design, develop, and test complex software and tools for EO/IR technologies.Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, and Test engineers in one or more of the phases of Project Planning, Requirements Development, Design, Development, Integration and TestUtilize either a Windows or Linux based software development environment. Embedded targets could range from ARM through high performance x86-64 CPUs and Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). You will be integrating and testing in the selected target test environments.Participate in external project interactions with customers and other companies as needed.Work mainly onsite with the ability to telecommute occasionally.Who you are:You thrive in a collaborative team environment and enjoy hearing differing perspectives.You enjoy working with others to solve hard problems and mentor junior engineers.You take pride in delivering quality in everything you do.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and minimum of 6 years work experience or equivalent experienceSecret Clearance (active within the last two years)Foundation in Object-Oriented design and implementationDemonstrated working proficiency with modern C++ 17 or laterExperience using scripting languages, such as Python or BashStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving and collaborative skills that translate to working softwareProficient with source code control toolsPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience with Real-time Embedded Software DevelopmentExperience with Agile Development and DevSecOpsExperience developing Linux and Windows Operating SystemsExperience or willingness to code in Ada and PythonExperience using software tools like Jira, Confluence BitBucket, GitlabExperience with Containers including Docker, Podman or KubernetesSoftware automated test development and executionSoftware modeling experienceSoftware algorithm developmentSoftware Leadership experienceDesire to lead technical teamsPlease note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $173700

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
