About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team at ASRC Federal. As a key member of our Agile Decision Sciences team, you will play a critical role in the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Software Factory team to ensure the development and operation of cloud infrastructure platforms for the customer (MDA).
  • Work closely with the team to design and implement secure and efficient systems.
  • Develop and maintain software code, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and security.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the field, applying this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship and current DoD Secret clearance or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 7 years of related experience.
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security + CE).
  • Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Windows/Linux Operating Systems environments.
  • Recent experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud.
  • Recent experience and skills in agile software principles, particularly regarding building a plan or roadmap for multiyear program/product.
  • Ability to write or review software code.
  • Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Helm Charts and Ansible Technologies.
  • Experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies.
  • Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits, and source-controlled management.
  • Programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts).
  • Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment (PowerShell, etc.).
