SUMMARY: Under supervision, the HR Assistant performs work of moderate difficulty in human resources administration and performs related work as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with various human resource programs and procedures for all employees.
  • Explain company policies, benefits, and procedures to employees and job applicants.
  • Administer background and drug screening processes.
  • Conduct new-employee orientations and coordinate cohort setups.
  • Handle new hire processing and maintain HR information systems.
  • Assist with substance abuse policy and online training administration.
  • File reports and maintain records related to HR procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Maintain HR information system records and compile reports as needed.
  • Participate in meetings and maintain organization charts.
  • Organize and maintain employee personnel files.
  • Ensure safety and security in the workplace.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Administrative experience in creating forms and spreadsheets.
  • Focus on customer/client needs.
  • Display ethical conduct and credibility.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Largely sedentary role with some filing and lifting required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and systems.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
  • Must be available during office hours, 40 hours per week.
TRAVEL:
  • Some travel to various locations may be required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree in human resource management or two years of office administrative experience.
