Duties

The incumbent is responsible for supervising and performing various and diverse Facility Engineering tasks requiring electrical, carpentry, construction, welding, painting, heating and air conditioning, and plumbing
skills, etc.

Being a Coast Guard civilian make you a valuable member of the Coast Guard Team. Typical work assignments include:
  • Working alongside others, demonstrating proper methods and ensuring proper stock of plans, tools, and materials.
  • Receiving work orders for both corrective maintenance (CM) and preventive maintenance (PM), reviews the request to ensure the work can be accomplished, and forwards the work order to the appropriate subordinate for accomplishing the work assignment.
  • Performing the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised.
  • Carrying out equal employment opportunity (EEO) by taking positive steps to assure the accomplishment of affirmative action.
  • Planning, managing, maintenance and repair, grounds maintenance and maintenance and repair of rolling stock such as utility vehicles, forklifts, cranes, and other overhead weight handling equipment.
  • Preparing schedules on complex projects to ensure proper coordination of all personnel, equipment, material, and transportation.
