Position Details

Percent of Time/Week: 100%
Service Schedule: P&S Calendar Year
Position Description:
Designs, codes, and tests sensors that enhance metal casting research and development projects; assists with development and testing of software/hardware applications that support the goals of the Foundry 4.0 Center and Metal Casting Center; supervises student employees; and maintains existing IoT infrastructure.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field required. Spring 2024 graduates will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to start date.

Required Qualifications:
At least one year of experience with general embedded systems engineering and the internet of things required. Student experience will be considered.

Desirable Qualifications:
Embedded system engineering and internet of things experience for metal casting research applications; and experience coding in Python, Javascript, Arduino, and/or html preferred.
