Position Overview:
The Automation and Controls Specialist plays a crucial role in the design and execution of electronic systems for innovative product development and testing environments. This position is integral to enhancing customer satisfaction through effective control solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and establish electronic and control system specifications for new product initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
2. Provide expert guidance and oversight to external partners engaged in programming and control system design.
3. Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance lab control and measurement systems, while also maintaining these critical infrastructures.
4. Serve as the internal expert on automation and control technologies, particularly in relation to IoT applications and drive systems.
5. Lead the architectural design of systems, including hardware selection and embedded software development.
6. Support product lifecycle management through ongoing development, enhancements, and customer support.
7. Interface with stakeholders to clarify project requirements, deliverables, and testing protocols.

Project Execution:
1. Oversee the entire project lifecycle from conceptual design to prototyping and testing.
2. Conduct thorough verification processes to ensure product compliance with specifications.
3. Design and facilitate comprehensive electrical testing, including thermal and electromagnetic compatibility assessments.
4. Collaborate with supply chain teams to select and specify vendor components.
5. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure product solutions align with customer expectations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in industrial control systems and microcontroller technologies.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software such as LabView and VFDs.
- Strong capability in developing electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
- Experience with embedded software development and real-time operating systems.
