Lead Consultant for Risk Programs

The Program Manager (PM) plays a pivotal role in independently overseeing and directing intricate, cross-departmental initiatives and projects that enhance enterprise risk management across various domains including Financial Risk (such as Credit and Market Risk), Non-Financial Risk (including Cybersecurity and Operational Risk), and Compliance (like AML and Trade Surveillance).

These initiatives or projects focus on delivering improved risk capabilities or regulatory adaptations that may influence multiple risk functions, business units, or technological frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead, advise, and stay abreast of industry best practices while managing programs or projects to ensure successful outcomes. This includes establishing the overall direction, coordination, execution, implementation, and reporting.

Tackle complex challenges, drive project teams towards success, and provide guidance and alternative solutions while navigating obstacles through a consultative approach with project sponsors and stakeholders.

Adhere to internal program/project management methodologies, quality standards, and processes, ensuring the delivery of all necessary program or project management artifacts such as scope and objectives, resource plans, budgets, project timelines, status updates, and tracking of key milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.

Formulate strategies to mitigate program or project risks and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
Acquire knowledge of the subject matter to offer leadership and guidance for the programs and projects.
Implement programs or projects aimed at delivering new or enhanced strategic risk capabilities or regulatory adaptations.
Exhibit a balanced, cross-functional perspective, collaborating with business and technology sectors to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
Facilitate cross-disciplinary discussions for decision-making regarding scope, prioritization, and issue resolution.

Develop, manage, and communicate all program and project documentation including objectives, risks, issues, and overall status to various levels within the organization.


Qualifications:
Extensive expertise with over 7+ years in risk management and/or program management.
Technical, business, and regulatory knowledge gained through prior industry experience.
A consulting background and PMP Certification are advantageous.
Knowledge in program and project management and/or risk and compliance is essential (e.g., fraud, operational resilience, stress testing).
Self-driven, highly adaptable, and capable of assessing relative priorities among competing issues.

Strong leadership and organizational skills are necessary to define program goals, structure, budget, timelines, and resource requirements, driving the program to successful completion.

Consultative, analytical, and strong oral and written communication skills are crucial.

Proficiency in MS suite applications, advanced Excel skills for analysis, PowerPoint for reporting and presentations, and familiarity with MS Project for project planning.

Ability to collaborate with multiple partners in cross-functional teams at various organizational levels and drive consensus among diverse groups.

Capability to execute initiatives without direct reporting line responsibilities.
