Practice Overview:

The Noragh group within Ankura develops and maintains a portfolio of analytics products centered largely but not solely around high-volume unstructured text. Rather than a pure machine-learning plus dashboards approach, we focus on opportunities to interactively support human analysts as they organize, explore, and exploit data with the assistance of machine learning and an intuitive user experience. Our products include platforms that can be configured for specific re-sellable applications or delivered "raw" for unique needs, as well as custom development when required. We believe in modular distributed design, clear code, robust testing, collaborative innovation, happy clients, mutual respect, and a real work/life balance. We also strive to build upon and maintain a culture that is inclusive, rewarding, and in keeping with our organizational core values.

Role Summary:The Chief of Design and Marketing will be an integral part of our AI leadership team, responsible for overseeing the design and marketing departments, guiding the user experience and visual design, strategic branding, and marketing of our AI products. Your expertise will bridge the gap between innovative technology and user experience, ensuring that our products not only lead the industry in capabilities but also in usability and appeal. This requires a leader capable of translating complex technological products into user-centric solutions that resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Vision:

  • Define and articulate the long-term vision for Ankura AI's design and marketing departments, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic goals of the organization.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of innovative design and marketing strategies that promote brand identity, enhance user engagement, and drive competitive advantage.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and press events, articulating Ankura AI's design and market vision.
  • Prepare and manage the annual design and marketing budgets.

Design Management:

  • Oversee the entire design process from concept to execution, ensuring all products deliver an exceptional user experience and meet high-quality design standards.
  • Lead UX/UI design initiatives, ensuring that all products are user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and fully functional across various devices and platforms.
  • Guide the team in implementing design best practices and methodologies such as design thinking, user-centered design, and iterative development.
  • Collaborate with product teams to integrate design into product development, ensuring that design considerations are included from the start

Marketing Strategy Execution:

  • Develop and execute innovative marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and product adoption among target demographics
  • Develop and manage comprehensive marketing campaigns that effectively communicate the value of the company's products to the target audience.
  • Collaborate with Ankura's marketing department to utilize a mix of marketing channels including digital (SEO, PPC, email, social media), traditional media, events, and public relations to maximize reach and impact.
  • Analyze consumer behavior and market trends to tailor marketing strategies that engage different segments effectively.

Team Development and Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor design and marketing team members, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration and continuous improvement within the design and marketing teams.
  • Set clear team goals and performance metrics and provide regular feedback and reviews to encourage professional growth and optimize team productivity.

Budget and Resource Allocation:

  • Prepare and manage the annual budgets for the design and marketing departments, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the procurement of necessary tools, software, and subscriptions required for the design and marketing teams to function effectively.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the design/marketing departments and other internal teams, including product development, sales, and customer support, to ensure a unified approach to product strategies and company goals.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and media, to establish and maintain beneficial relationships.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on the performance of design and marketing initiatives, using key performance indicators and return on investment metrics to measure success and guide future strategies.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in design tools, marketing techniques, and industry standards to keep the company at the leading edge of technology and marketing practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in design, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a senior leader in design and marketing, preferably in tech-oriented industries.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating success in digital product design, brand strategy, and user experience optimization.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage creative and marketing teams.
