ENGINEER

Position Summary:

Performs work requiring the basic skills in most of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, HV AC, carpentry, paint/wall cover, locksmith, in addition to performing other general maintenance duties

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for all maintenance for the primary trade, area of expertise
  2. Responds to trouble/complaint/maintenance request calls throughout the hotel and grounds.
  3. May work with hazardous materials and chemicals in the performance of duties
  4. Uses tools, equipment, materials and chemicals safely and efficiently according to manufacturer's instructions/MSDS requirements
  5. Checks maintenance requests logs, daily for work assignments, at the beginning of and throughout each shift
  6. Communicates status of job assignments and maintenance requests to supervisor and the requestor.
  7. Notifies supervisor/dispatcher as required upon completion of work assignment
  8. Completes appropriate records associated with work performed
  9. Makes minor repairs to equipment brought into the shop
  10. May assist in performing the duties of dispatcher as needed
  11. May assist/perform minor set-up duties for functions throughout the hotel and grounds
  12. Is completely familiar with Hotel Emergency procedures and able to respond quickly and accurately
  13. Promotes and applies teamwork skill at all times
  14. Notifies appropriate individuals promptly and fully of all problems and/or unusual matters of significance
  15. Is polite, friendly, and helpful to all guests, management and fellow employees
  16. Attends all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
  17. Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
  18. Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
  19. Complies with required safety regulations and procedures
  20. Complies with hotel and department standards, policies and rules
  21. Remains current with hotel information and changes
  22. Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
    Additional Responsibilities:
  23. Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
  24. The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
    Skills and Abilities:
  25. Strong mechanical background with minimum 2 years hands on experience in maintenance related activity
  26. Previous hospitality experience required, preferred
  27. Ability to bend, stoop, and lift (up to 75 lbs.) repetitively
  28. Must be guest oriented and possess excellent hospitality skills
