About the Van Wagner Internship Role
Our internship at NMSU is a non-paid, 14 – 16-week school-for-credit for undergraduate/graduate degree students majoring in sports management, marketing, business, advertising, or related fields. The intern will benefit from being immersed in the day-to-day while receiving hands-on learning opportunities, mentorship, and professional growth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist the sales team in the creation of proposals and fulfillment summaries for potential and/or current corporate partners for New Mexico State Athletic Sponsorships.
  • Assist property with the integration and roll-out of Van Wagner's inventory management software, SponsorCX.
  • Assist with game day activities for football, men's and women's basketball, and other Olympic sports when necessary.
  • Capture proof of performance examples and assemble them into fulfillment summaries to share with sponsors.
  • Assist team with the fulfillment and execution of corporate sponsorship contracts that include Football, Basketball, Baseball, and select Olympic Sports.
What We're Looking For:
  • Must be able to work at NMSU for a minimum of 10 per week and work weekends and evenings during sporting events.
  • Must be able to be on campus at New Mexico State University.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Demonstrate the ability to build relationships.
  • Meticulous organization skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, go-getter attitude.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exhibit a strong desire to build a career in the sports industry
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19 and if hired, present proof of vaccination.
