The State of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical/Plumbing Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our Construction Inspection Division, you will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical and plumbing installations in residential, commercial, and public buildings meet the current adopted codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct on-site inspections of mechanical and plumbing installations to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Enforce the Construction Industries Licensing Act and protect the life, health, safety, and property of New Mexico residents.
- Communicate with contractors, homeowners, architects, engineers, and fellow inspectors to ensure properly permitted, licensed, and code-compliant installations.
- Provide assistance in other inspection areas as needed.
- Valid New Mexico Inspector Certification and national Mechanical/Plumbing Inspector certifications.
- Three years of journeyman and/or foreman level experience in mechanical or plumbing work, or two years of experience as a Construction Inspector.
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain a valid driver's license.
The incumbent will work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, and navigate construction sites. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
