The Opportunity

DAT is looking for an Associate Frontend Software Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO or Beaverton, OR

Candidate profile

  • Entry level engineer, learning to complete development tasks using DAT tools and processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the support of more experienced engineers and team members.
  • Writes, tests, and documents code according to DAT Engineering standards and practices.
  • Works within their team to foster a culture of professionalism in all aspects of delivery.
  • Debugs and fixes issues in development, test, and production.
  • Participates in software design for features and bug fixes under direct supervision.
  • Serves as on-call first responder for software their team owns.
  • Partner with senior engineers to improve the operational state of the team's services.
  • Completes tasks assigned by others. Acts on and learns from code review feedback.
  • Participates in the hiring process (by submitting referrals, recruiting, promoting DAT, etc.).
  • Accepts feedback and mentoring, learns from others.
  • Leverage AWS to deliver cloud-native solutions.
  • Write unit, integration, and functional tests.
  • Document software systems and project tasks.
  • Participate in design & code reviews.

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring

  • 1+ years of experience working with Front-ends with associate level degree or a certification in coding/software engineering (ex. Code School) or 2 years (with a high school diploma, or GED). .
  • Understanding with front end technologies such as CSS, JS, and HTML.
  • Applied Knowledge of REST APIs established best practices.
  • Modern object oriented scripting languages such as Javascript, Typescript, or equivalent.
  • Exposure to Cloud-Native Development such as in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience creating and contributing to data driven websites that provide end users with actionable insights.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps pipeline and build/deploy tools.
  • Effective interpersonal, written communication skills..
