POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager oversees and directs day-to-day management for assigned projects. Interface with clients regarding project status. Ensure project task orders are completed under contract specifications and requirements. Manage profit and loss for assigned projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

A BS degree in a science or engineering discipline can be substituted with equivalent experience. A minimum of five (10) year's experience managing construction and D&D projects for government clients, specifically the Department of Defense (DoD) and the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE).

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven history and demonstrated knowledge of effectively managing projects averaging $20M.
  • Excellent project management skills in managing safety, cost, schedule, risk, change conditions, and contract management.
  • Solid understanding and experience developing budgets, proposals, and technical work documents.
  • Understanding quality assurance (QA)/quality control (QC) processes and procedures.
  • Strong skills in project finance & subcontractor management
  • Previous history managing in the design-build environment
  • Strong familiarity with EM and OSHA regulatory guidelines.
  • Federal and state regulator interface, including USACE.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Highly skilled in using computers and all MS Office products.
  • Experience using Primavera 6 (preferred)
  • Excellent management skills and ability to manage and supervise others
  • Ability to work with time constraints and complete projects on time
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to apply lessons learned regarding project management, quality, safety, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings, specifications, and codes and organize work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to learn new methods and systems.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Windows Office environment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, which includes 7-year employment verification, Department of Motor Vehicles record search, criminal record search, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses as applicable to the position.
  • Must occasionally be available for extra (OT) hours.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Project Manager (PMP) is preferred
  • Primavera 3 or 6 fundamental and advanced is preferred
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour and 8-hour Supervisor
  • OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Create, maintain, and generate Excel spreadsheet reports as required and provide them to the Program Manager and customers.
  • Conduct project/safety meetings as required.
  • Review and approve daily, weekly, and monthly project status reports and submit them to the Director of Operations as required.
  • Approve procurement of equipment, parts, and supplies as needed.
  • Monitor all project tasks and subcontractor compliance to contractual requirements to meet or exceed project schedule/milestones.
  • Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to conclude.
  • Assist with proposal efforts, Requests for Adjustments, Change Order Requests, etc., as needed.
  • Mentor junior project managers.

MENTAL & COGNITIVE DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret data; respond promptly and professionally; write routine work orders; communicate clearly and succinctly on a basic and technical level.
  • Must be able to document issues and resulting resolutions.
  • Must be able to solve problems.
  • Must possess basic computer skills, basic maintenance and repair aptitude.
  • Ability to solve practical problems; ability to interpret and understand various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to verbally communicate with, hear, and understand others.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Interface Required:

  • Interfaces with all staff, project personnel, corporate administrative support staff, customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to normal office conditions when not in the field. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees may be exposed to environmental hazards, extreme weather conditions, and loud noise when in the field.
